With all the hype surrounding LTE, many people may come to the conclusion that WiMAX technology is fading, but this is not the case. While headlines talk about operators flipping from WiMAX to LTE, the WiMAX market is still on a growth trajectory. Major vendors have been focusing on publicizing their expertise in LTE, but they are still doing a lot of business in WiMAX which is currently used in more than 30 networks world wide including big operators like Clearwire /Sprint KT in Korea and UQ Communications in Japan.

There is a co-existence between LTE and WiMAX, yet the role of WiMAX is changing as it expands into vertical market growth opportunities. One of these areas that is poised for significant growth is airport ground communications, with the US FAA and European Aviation Safety Agency both choosing WiMAX to run their terrestrial airport communications services.

The HTC EVO 4G WiMax smartphone is a Korean version of the EVO 3D that drops the 3D for a more standard camera design. The EVO 4G+ supports both WiMax (WiBro in Korea) and HSPA data connections. The external appearance of the phone is exactly the same as the EVO 3D, except for a single reconfigured camera in place of two on the back.

The qHD screen is the same, and so is the 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The phone offers a dual-core, 1.2 GHz processor and comes with 1 GB of RAM. Its 1730mAh battery is the same as the EVO 3D as well, and the EVO 4G+ runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread and version 3.0 of HTC's Sense UI. This flashy phone is not likely to be sold in the US, because it only supports the 900MHz and 2100MHz 3G bands.

La méthode la plus classique pour se connecter à internet est l'utilisation d'un modem ADSL. Concernant les prix de ce genre de connexion, ils restent de loin les moins chers, sauf que la plupart des opérateurs téléphoniques imposent un abonnement d'au moins deux ans, ce qui fait une grande somme pour certaines personnes. C'est pourquoi, il faut plutôt penser à appliquer les méthodes de prépaiement des utilisateurs de la durée qu'ils veulent, pour rendre ce choix plus démocratique et surtout le rendre à la portée de toutes les couches de société.
